> Transpacific has embarked on an Australian first waste management package that is helping commercial property owners meet new reporting requirements.

Since July 2010, the commercial building industry is required to undertake mandatory disclosure reporting of their total waste generation and energy and water consumption.

Transpacific is leading the industry by developing the capabilities to provide clients with the detailed waste information they will need for this mandatory disclosure reporting.

Transpacific Key Account Managers who provide customer support in this sector are working towards gaining qualifications to become National Australian Built Environment Rating Scheme (NABERS) accredited assessors so they can provide clients with the capability to report on their total waste volumes.

Transpacific Sales, Key Account Manager Felicity Willmett said: “With mandatory reporting being introduced, commercial properties will have to work hard to provide the required information.”

“By providing an accredited NABERS service, Transpacific is helping to keep them ahead of the game.”

The Transpacific NABERS package has already been adopted by three clients and applied to 10 commercial buildings.

Through the NABERS package, Transpacific reports on all waste generated from these properties through an extensive audit.

The NABERS package also provides a total waste management solution for all waste streams generated including: office and confidential paper, e-waste, toner cartridges, batteries and used cooking oil.

The Transpacific Harvest Recycling Program is also used as part of the NABERS package to recycle cardboard, polystyrene and clear plastic.

“Clients who use this Transpacific service know they are getting a service they can’t get elsewhere and that they are working with people who will actually be there on site supporting them,” Felicity said.
