> As a major waste management and resource recovery service provider,Transpacific is committed to proactively working with customers, suppliers and staff to reduce its carbon footprint and to maximise the opportunities presented by the Australian Government’s Carbon Pricing Mechanism (commonly referred to as the Carbon Tax).

We are taking a company-wide approach to managing our climate change impact by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from our landfills, transport and on-site fuel and energy (electricity and gas) use. These reductions will be achieved by following the internationally recognised Carbon Management Principles that include avoidance, reduction, switching and offsetting.

We are equally committed to working with our customers to reduce their carbon footprint, and the associated costs of the carbon tax.To assist with this, Transpacfic will be undertaking greenhouse gas emission reduction projects under the Carbon Farming Initiative and targeting savings in administrative processes associated with the carbon tax. We will also seek to reduce permit prices through participation in international permit markets and other alternative sourcing arrangements.

Transpacific will also continue to pursue and offer innovative and sustainable waste management solutions to our clients that work toward creating a sustainable environment for the future.
